As a cardiothoracic surgeon and Director of Cardiovascular Surgery at Wellstar-Kennestone Hospital in Marietta, GA, Dr. Cooper believes that supplements play an important role in a well-balanced health regimen, as they can often help prevent and address nutritional gaps. He strongly believes that physicians have a responsibility to discuss supplements with patients and that they should be open-minded about patients' questions and interest in supplements. In return, patients need to share their supplement usage with their physicians, especially heart patients who take prescription medications in addition to supplements.
Personally, Dr. Cooper regularly takes fiber, Omega-3 fish oil supplements and a multivitamin, and in turn recommends them to his patients for good heart health. He exercises four to six times a week for at least 30 minutes by running or going to the gym and eats three balanced meals a day.
William Cooper has consulted for the Life…supplemented campaign.
