"Life…supplemented" Announces $10,000 Donation to Vitamin Angels

Campaign reaches funding goal thanks to consumer participation in live on-line video event

WASHINGTON, D.C., JANUARY 18, 2020 - The "Life…supplemented" campaign is pleased to announce it will donate $10,000.00 to Vitamin Angels, an organization dedicated to reducing child mortality worldwide by connecting infants and children under five with essential micronutrients. The donation amount was determined by consumer participation in the campaign's live video stream hosted by Hungry Girl Lisa Lillien on January 5.

"Vitamin Angels is honored to accept this donation from the CRN Foundation's "Life…supplemented" campaign. For the 40,000 children around the world whose health and wellbeing will hugely benefit from dietary supplements, we are so thankful," said Howard Schiffer, president & founder of Vitamin Angels.

The live on-line video stream featured a panel of wellness experts: Dave Grotto, R.D., Duffy MacKay, N.D., and certified personal trainer Andrea Metcalf, and provided consumers the opportunity to have their health and wellness questions addressed. For every tweet, retweet, on-line question, reply to @wannaBwell or @HungryGirl and use of the #3pillars hashtag related to the live event, "Life…supplemented" pledged to donate ten dollars to Vitamin Angels (up to $10,000.00 total).

"We couldn't be more pleased to provide Vitamin Angels with this donation, as we know it will only further the good work that they do on behalf of children around the globe," said Steve Mister, president, CRN Foundation. "We also want to thank the on-line video event's host, Lisa Lillien, the panel of wellness experts, and especially the consumers who participated in the event. Without their support, this donation would not be possible."

The contribution has been made as part of the Life…supplemented Wellness Challenge initiative, designed to motivate people to take simple lifestyle steps within the three pillars of health - healthy diet + supplements + exercise. As part of the ongoing Challenge, "Life…supplemented" and Vitamin Angels-both of which have active social media communities-will engage consumers on-line about the importance of leading a healthy lifestyle through the three pillars of health, and how vitamins and other supplements play an important role.

Consumers participating in the Wellness Challenge will have two more opportunities throughout the next few months to help raise additional funds for Vitamin Angels-a tweet-a-thon has been planned for February and other Facebook initiatives will take place in March.
