Actress and Screenwriter Nia Vardalos Teams Up with “Life…Supplemented” Campaign to Encourage Healthy Habits among Americans

WASHINGTON, D.C., June 19, 2020- Academy Award-nominated actress and screenwriter Nia Vardalos, of such films as My Big Fat Greek Wedding and My Life in Ruins, is teaming up with the “Life…supplemented” campaign. The campaign, which is managed and funded by the Council for Responsible Nutrition Foundation (CRNF), is a consumer wellness initiative dedicated to helping Americans achieve overall wellness through healthy diet, supplements and exercise.

“A few years ago, I took a critical look at what I was doing, health-wise, and realized I needed to make some changes. I made a commitment to myself that I would improve my overall health,” said Nia. “I started eating healthier, taking supplements that my doctor recommended and working exercise into my daily routine. I have more energy and I feel good about what I’m doing. I like being a part of a campaign that encourages people to get healthy.”

As part of her role with the campaign, Nia will be sharing her own tips on incorporating the three pillars of a smart wellness regimen (healthy diet + dietary supplements + exercise) into a healthy lifestyle. She will also be encouraging consumers to optimize their personal health by utilizing the tools found on the “Life…supplemented” website (www.lifesupplemented.org), which include new and updated tools:

  • Supplement Library, which provides easy-to-navigate information on specific supplements
  • WannaBeWell Mobile Application, a soon-to-be launched tool that will help consumers focus on their health in a fun way, wherever they ar

“As a busy mom with a busy career, Nia faces many of the same challenges as the rest of us. What do we do to stay healthy, and how do we find the time to do it? She’s someone who is mindful of her health, and pays attention to what she eats, what supplements she takes, and how she can work exercise in to her routine. We are delighted to have the opportunity to work with her,” said Judy Blatman, senior vice president, communications for the Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN), who oversees the Life…supplemented campaign.

More than 150 million Americans take dietary supplements each year, but it can be challenging to know what supplements you need to help complement your healthy diet and exercise routine.
